Channing began his career in Gospel music on March 23, 1995…playing piano for Phil Cross & Poet Voices.  Traveling extensively across the U.S. and Canada, Channing absolutely loved his time spent with Poet Voices.  Channing states, “Ya know, when God prepares you for His plan and purpose for you, He places people in your path to come alongside to help you.  It was no mistake that The Lord placed me in a group with award winning songwriter, Phil Cross.  The things I learned from Phil onstage and songwriting, I’ll carry with me the rest of my days.  I’m thankful for my Poet Voices days, for sure.”  Channing was nominated for two GMA Dove Awards during his tenure with Poet Voices.

March 23, 2000, finds Channing joining legendary Gospel quartet, Gold City.  “I will cherish my six years I toured with Gold City.  I grew so much as a player and musician during my time with these incredible men“, says Channing.  The Southern Gospel Music Association awarded Channing as their Musician Of The Year for the year 2001.  Later, The Southern Gospel Music Guild awarded Channing the Musician Of The Year award for the year 2005.

March 23, 2008, I began my solo ministry, performing my very first solo concert in Texarkana, TX.  Yeah, there seems to be a thread with the date of March, 23.    I truly believe it was confirmation of The Lord ordering my steps“, Channing adds.

Whenever not ministering onstage with the family:
Channing enjoys, reading, bass fishing, hunting whitetail deer, and the constant pursuit of the world’s greatest cup of coffee…
